REFLECTION

Experience -

I have learned the basics of typography and where and how to use them in the most suitable ways and methods of how to bring the most visual impact out of it. Due to pandemic students were not able to physically attend classes and such but through online consultation and feedback we could learn and improve on the assignments and develop better understanding of typography. Through this course I have also learned how to use adobe illustrator, indesign and fontlab programs which would be very useful to me in the future.

Observations -

We were told each typography designs should convey and express the message and meaning. Through this course I have began to observe and look for the meaning and the message in every typography posters and designs and how I can improve my work. I have learned how to spot design elements, how different size of typefaces add different impact and different typefaces bringing out different atmosphere.

Findings -

I've tend to work as if the work is visually good then it would be acceptable for the assignments but the most important value was to express the meaning of the design and how it conveys the message. If the expression was wrong the whole design was not suitable and had to be redone. I have found that each different typefaces have their own strength to express and convey message and where to use them. Overall I have found many mistakes that I have been doing and learned how to fix them.
