Major Project

This project aligns with UN SDG quality education, focusing on protecting cultural heritage. Main goal is to preserve the culture by importing and embedding their traditions, and customs into game designs.

Games in general, draws upon many aspects of human culture, arts, and music, and is capable of expressing and establishing relationships between them. A game is a means of playing with the entire range of culture in the same way that a painter might play with a palette of colours.

The game design has been built around Konyak tribe cultures of Nagaland. The Konyak tribe, India’s last headhunters, are one of the minor cultural groups that are being wiped out by globalisation and modernization. For centuries, the tribe has passed on its stories orally to younger generations, but as its oldest members passed away, their history is at the risk of being lost forever

They were able to use magic to harvest spiritual powers from the skull of the creatures that they have taken down. Few warriors could draw special powers with ancient gods’ bones. Based on the achievements made from the battles, warriors get amulets tattooed on their face and bodies with special ink that grants them recognition and fame.
