Proposal
Students were to choose a game and alter the art direction / aesthetics.
Based on the game chosen, students were to create total three characters,
Main, Villain and one monster with collections of reference and extracting
information/ components that are collected in the moldboard.
Pokemon game was chosen, as the game had been gradually evolving since 1996,
and the game has lots of history and great aesthetics to work on and making
it to be trendier.
Character Design
Time era was set to be modern era. Main character were designed to have a
casual modern daily outfit, initially, the outfit were designed to have
familiar clothing of casual wear, but it needed more character and style to
be differentiated with NPCs.
Villain design were more direct. it was set to be a boss of K pop company,
so a suit was ideal and to add more Korean character, it was given a jacket
which were inspired from hanbok that were worn by knights and kings.
Monster design were set to be a legendary Pokemon which derived from HaeTae.
A mythical creature from Korea mythology known to be able to identify
righteous people and attack sinners with its horn. It is well known as the
statues are placed in which is the main and largest gate of Gyeongbokgung
Palace.
3D Character Art
Students were to pick one character and develop further into 3D sculpture
using Zbrush or any other sculpting software. Main character were chosen
as it shows more Pokemon atmosphere other than the two.
Zbrush
T pose
Blender
Blender was used for lighting and final render of the sculpture.

Reflection
Designing three characters and one 3D sculpture in a single module felt
like a big step as we were supposed to design one character in a module.
However with the experience of designing and sculpting from the past
modules, it helped to speed things up. There were some lacks designing all
three characters and till the end the villain and legendary Pokemon felt
unfinished with given time constraints. Overall it would have been nice if
we were to focus on just two characters for more furbished and polished
outcome, but it was a good experience to speed things up to test the
limits of my skills achieved through out the past semesters with short
deadlines.
