Project 1
Pre production

For project 1 students were to design the base of the three (air, water and land) vehicle concepts to proceed with the following projects. Mood boards were made at first to guide and set the direction of the vehicle design to assume how it may appear in the final concept design.

The vehicle concept design shares the same concept and background with the character design. Tethys, titan Goddess of primal font of water in Greek methodology were chosen as character design and the timeline were ancient Greece. Vehicles were to be used in transport, fishing and farming in a utopia, where there are no vehicles designed for war.

Key words for the Vehicle concept were

- Ancient Greek theme
- Marine life design concept
- Powered by water enchanted by Tethys (Magic)
- Vehicles in utopia (no weaponized vehicles)

Mood board

The concept of the vehicles were to be built to resemble marine life animals as Tethys provides streams of river to flow above the city with her powers enriching marine life in the city. Citizens would be designing transportation through what they often see in life which would be marine life such as fish, lobsters and so on.

Concept Thumbnail Sketches

13 Initial thumbnail sketches were drawn at first but the designs did not fitted to proceed for further development.

Specific animals were chosen to build the base of each three types of vehicles. Squid was chose for land, lobster for air and fish for water vehicle. As the base were set, it was more straightforward to continue to develop and design variety of the vehicles.

No 4. of land vehicle

No. 3, 4 of air vehicle

No.4 of water vehicle

were chosen to proceed for further development

Final Design Concepts of Vehicles

Silhouette of a person is added to show the scale of the vehicles. All the vehicles were painted in blue pastel tones to follow the color of water which is enchanted with magic and powers the vehicles. Further color development and studies will be carried out in project 2
