For the data collection the methodology one and two were continued from proposal.

Methodology 1 

Social media analysis of blackpink modernized hanbok design.

From various social media the comments and articles were researched to find out how people viewed the redesigned hanbok which made the old traditional hanbok trendier by losing some of the original hanbok aesthetics and using trending fashion.

How the people reacted were mainly diversified into two. Where people loved the design and wanted to buy the hanbok that blackpink wore and another group of people who believed the design strayed too far from the original hanbok and lost the traditional value.

Each group has reasonable views to their views. The ones who favors the new look of hanbok mentioned this were a great way to promote the Koreas culture and improve knowledge of korea better towards foreign people. It does look different than any other fashion so it does stands out and bring interests and attention towards hanbok.

The others who oppose the new modernized hanbok were afraid of losing the cultural value of hanbok and it is not a toy to be played with. Some also seemed offended by too revealing parts of the modernized hanbok. 

The comments collected were divided by how people felt and analysed further. In summary, majority found it as a impressive way to introduce Korea and its culture.

Methodology 2

Online google survey

Series of questions were asked to see how much hanbok is exposed to the modern society we live in and how they view of modernizing hanbok and how they see blackpinks modernized hanbok.

Questions

100 participants were collected before closing the survey. the data collected were analysed and organised to see how they viewed hanbok. Majority were Malaysians and the rest were algerians and koreans. As 94% were familiar with hanbok, interesting comments were collected for the study.  They also gave suggestions of how designing hanbok to match the trend and how it should be modernized. Some participants did agreed that this method would lose the cultural value and opposed the idea, but generally majority of the participants viewed as a good way to promote hanbok.

Feedback

For this week's consultation, we showed our data collection analysis and it was well done. But we had some errors with the title and we were  advised to add a table content sheet to show all the data that we have collected from the survey. Other than that, Dr. Charles also advised us to design our character to resemble the character that we have chosen in LOL (Diana). So that people can easily notice that the character we are designing is Diana.
