Project 2 : How young lives are affected by Covid 19
On this project students were grouped together to shoot video and come up with a video about the pandemic. The topic our group chose was the New Norm. On this topic, the group members should shoot vlog of their daily life to show the new norm of wearing masks and keeping social distance. As group members are in different countries, final outcome could show diverse environment and show how the country is handling pandemic.
Rough video is made using vlog of Korean youtubers filmed during pandemic. The news audio recording at the start of the video is from different news channel from the countries from the members of the group.

Progress
There were total five members in the group including me. Each members were tasked to shoot video of their daily life and mainly focus to document the changes in the new norm. As three members were in Malaysia, one in Dubai and I was in Korea, it was easy to apply diversity.

The video had to be in 2 minutes, most suitable shots were chosen by me and edited.
Each members were tasked to shoot two motion of covering the camera with their hands in and out so that the transitions of moving one member to another could be smooth.
The song chosen is Steven Universe OST Id rather be with you remix by Geass Studio. the music was 2 min long so it was perfect for this video.
For the News Report Audio it was edited using Adobe Audition and applied vintage Radio effect. As the news audio was intended to be played in the background, subtle crack and damaged radio sound was most suitable to blend in with the video shot by members. From the new norm news YouTube video suitable researched were cut out and edited. Crackling Vinyl sound was also downloaded and added in with the news report to enhance the vintage radio effect.
The video were edited using premier pro at first. Headings and texts were not added at first but divided into five sections of the group members. Some members had long playtime than others as some had more footage that resembled the new norm. The news audio were also divided and placed at suitable places so that the whole flow of the video more interesting. Each member was edited to have different color theme such as it was Autumn in Korea and had cold weather so overall, it was edited to have cold hue. Members in Malaysia were to have warm hue as it is summer all year in Malaysia.
Some footage were shaken too much so it had to be fixed using after effects using warp stabilizer.
Headings and texts were edited using after effects as i was more comfortable editing elements into the video using after effects.
For each students name, a box with their name were created using Photoshop.
the boxes were then edited into the video using aftereffects. The boxes are focused on the center of the face so that the movement of the box is synced to the head motions.
