week 10 - 12 (18.06.20 - 02.07.20)
Cinemagraph - Surrealistic Parallax
On this assignment, a surreal collage animation is to be made.
Attempt 01
Initial idea was a gate or a door to another dimension. To combine two totally
different environment together such as desert and ocean sunny day and winter
climate environments and etc. I have decided to carry on with door which opens
up to a sky view.

To make it more surreal Two moons orbiting the earth were to be added and red
pandas just goofing around.

floating around.

Collage Composition
The composition is made by photoshop and moved on to after effect for
animation.
This work did not contain any of my own photographs so it could not be used as final outcome.
Attempt 02
Based on the photos that I have, I've decided to go with the two photo of a sky view that I took in Malaysia and a mirror that i took in Korea. The intention of the design is to show two sides of me where I am from, Korea and where I love to stay and spent most of my life in Malaysia.

To add surrealism Owls and Aurora and the two moon used from previous attempt was added to create magical appearance.
Collage Composition
The collage is moved to after effect for the mild animation.
Final Outcome
The final outcome has very simple and calming visual as intended. The mild slow animation and the warm hue helps it to have calm appearance.
week 7 - 9 (28.05.20 - 11.06.20 )
Final Collage Using Self Portrait
For this exercise only photos taken by each individual were allowed to use and
photo of the student have to be used.
Final Collage
Concept of the third collage from previous collage work is used. Added
gradient rather than one simple hue to add more color. My Pets Kami the poodle
and Nyang Goon the cat were gathered together and made into black and white
first and added gradient, so that the color matches together more in a
harmony.
week 5 - 6 (14.05.20 - 21.05.20)
Third Collage
week 2 (23.04.20)
On this tutorial, collage art was introduced. Were given exercises to come up with three different collage variations and choose one as final outcome. Studies of movie poster and research on collage arts on pinterest were helpful on this exercise
First collage arrangement
Upward flow were given by cactus pointing upward on the left as well as cactus logo of the motel placed right above. The typography are placed as stairs witch indicates moving upwards.
Second collage arrangement
Given a flow moving towards left. A person wearing a costume leaning towards left. Spaceman with cowboy hat facing to the left. Typographical elements moving towards the left.
Third collage arrangement
Most of the elements were placed at the right creating negative space on the left side. Typographical elements fulfill the negative space making it more visible and creates more attention.
As for the final outcome I chose the the first arrangement as all the elements were more visible, and the upward motion was well placed.
on this exercise, were made to create three collages with new given images
including photo of my self and pick one of the collage design which is to be
used for final collage art to be used on the next assignment.
First Collage
A simple collage work with minimal use of the elements. Blended the colors
well all together. A green rectangle placed at the center and the elements
are gathered based on the rectangle.
Second Collage
Pastel toned hue were mainly used. Shapes are mainly focused and the
elements are going along with the arrangements of the shapes.
Third Collage
The face is edited in interesting way and its in black and white to draw
more focus to plants and the fish. Tattoo on the neck is still in color as
it wont draw too much attention.
The plants and the fish shares same hue to bring show visual that they
belong together in one environment. Yellow circle with mild texture added to
add more variety of colors.
week 3 - 4 (30.04.20 - 07.05.20)
With the given image, three collage had to be made. There were no
limitations to use of Photoshop to edit the images. All of the
outcomes should be in portrait
First Collage
Mainly focused on elements, and figuring out the compositions of the
elements. A road shooting out from right towards left and fencer on a
Shark also flying out of the right side where television and projector is
placed
Second Collage
Second collage is more focused on Shapes and simplicity. Only 5 elements
were used and placed in the center.
Third Collage
Third and final collage, lots of elements are used and in someplace in
repetitions. Lots of colors were used to create more diverse appearance.
week 2 (23.04.20)
